The GNA challenge kicked off with a face-to-face meeting in Maastricht, The Netherlands in June 2013 and through subsequent video conferences and face-face-meetings the group developed a high-level description of a Global Network Architecture for research and education. Participants from R&E Networks and Exchange Points from all over the world joined together to deliver an ambitious and all-inclusive blueprint for a global network interconnect for Research and Education.
